Looking for a vintage coffee or drinks table that is steeped in culture and has a fascinating story to tell?
Metrodeco is thrilled to have acquired two wonderful 1950s brass drums from legendary instrument manufacturer Hawkes & Son.
There are two – the Timpani (pictured below) and the Renaissance – and we think they make the most wonderful pieces of post war furniture that would light up any home.
Both come with Remo Weatherking drum heads and well-kept smooth brass bodies.
Hawkes & Son was founded in 1865 as a vendor of orchestral sheet music, eventually going on to build instruments from a factory in north London.
In 1930, the business merged with a rival company to form Boosey & Hawkes, which became one of the world’s leading classical music publishers and manufactured instruments in many different countries.
We’re selling these coveted pieces, which were built in the United States, at £500 for the smaller of the pair (pictured above and directly below) and £650 for the larger (picture on request).
Please call Helen or Maggie at Metrodeco on 01273 677243 for more information or visit the shop at 38 Upper St James’s Street, Kemp Town, Brighton.
