Metrodeco are very excited to be hosting the second of their gin tasting nights on Friday, March 16th. If you love gin and want to know a little more about this delectable beverage then this is the night for you.
We will take you through all the different styles of gin with a little history of how they came to be, so you should be able to tell your London Dry from your Old Tom and your Genever from your Bathtub. Though if you can’t then don’t worry, you will have enjoyed trying.
What you get
Start the evening with a classic gin cocktail. Taste four different gins and finish with a Metrodeco tea cocktail- of course laced with gin.
To help soak up the alcohol we will provide a cheese board with some lovely English and French cheeses.
All this for £35. Just call 01273677243 between 12 and 5pm. Or email firstname.lastname@example.org and leave your number and we will call you back.

By Maggie Morgan,
Tuesday (November 3rd, 2pm-4pm) sees the launch of our monthly Pooch Party at Metrodeco in conjunction with Black and Tan, the dog care company.
Our aim is to celebrate what a wonderful gift it is to have a canine companion and what makes it even better is if your best friend is reasonably well-behaved.
I have had dogs for most of my adult life and not all of them would have graduated from dog training school, I’m sorry to say. But with advice and guidance, I’m sure they would have done. Believe you me there is nothing worse than being in a park full of well-behaved dogs and yours not only stealing everyone’s ball but completely ignoring you when you’re calling him and then happily cocking his leg and peeing on a man sitting on a bench.
Black & Tan’s Terry Peckham will be on hand to give guidance and advice on all canine concerns from 2pm to 4pm. Don’t let your dog lead you; we all need to take the lead so our dogs are stress-free. Sit and enjoy tea and scones while your dog learns how to socialise. A plate of our delicious doggy treats will be on hand to reward good behaviour.
We’re raising money for the fabulous Karen Lippit and her team at Helping Paws, who have brought in over 200 dogs from Spain and Portugal for re-homing and also contributed to numerous projects throughout Europe. This organisation is completely dependent on donations and fundraising so come for an afternoon out with your best friend I mean the one with four legs and a loud bark.
Metrodeco has changed its opening hours and we are now putting on some dazzling and exciting events.
From now on, we will open later into the evening to give you more chance to enjoy our new wines, beers and cocktails. We also have a new evening menu so come and have a nibble on our delicious new dishes.
We have a number of events lined up for the rest of the year so you can be entertained while wining and dining. Do come along and join in, our events are good fun and friendly and some involve our canine friends too.

It’s been a while but Elsie Diamond is back!
The burlesque performer is due to perform her show at the Edinburgh Fringe in August but is doing an exclusive performance at Metrodeco in Brighton to preview her show.
Elsie’s loyal fans have already booked their seats but we’d love to introduce a new audience to this Northern minx. She’s a true delight on the eyes and the ears – especially if a little cheek and naughtiness is what you like!
A little more about the show
Elsie Diamond, international burlesque performer, compère and singer, presents this one-woman show, inspired by her day job: dresser to the stars in the unpredictable world of costume. A comic, sexy and heartfelt piece told through spoken word, song and striptease. With her vintage looks, a voice from a bygone era and exquisite costuming, Elsie transports you effortlessly through different eras while maintaining her very modern sense of humour.
Having worked in opera, theatre and television as a dresser at the same time as moonlighting as a burlesque diva, Elsie has a unique perspective on being on both sides of the curtain. Telling tales from her own and her friends’ careers – with some artistic licence – these stories couldn’t possibly be true…could they?
Tickets to see Elsie Diamond at Metrodeco are £10.
The show starts at 7pm on Sunday, July 5th – but doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to get a drink and food and to settle in for the show.
Please call (01273) 677243 to book your ticket. Metrodeco is at 38 Upper St James’s Street, Brighton (map here).
The mood is love on Valentine’s weekend and we certainly love singer/songwriter Aneesa Chaudhry.
Aneesa will be playing her own brand of Jazz, Eastern Flavours, Jazz Asian Fusion, Big Band, pop, contemporary and easy listening at Metrodeco on Sunday February 15th at 6.30pm.
Her first performance at Metrodeco was a sell out and this event will be too. There are only a few tickets left for this Valentine’s performance so if you do want to treat your loved one and yourself to some wonderful music then you can buy through Eventbrite.
Alcoholic drinks, including wines and beers, are available and we have a selection of small but delicious food platters.
Check Aneesa out at her Facebook page. You’ll see how her fans adore her from the reviews – and rightly so!
